Range
Two grain types, eight colors
The color and grain of natural stone may vary slightly from batch to batch; photos are for reference only. For larger surfaces, order the full quantity in a single order.

Layer build-up and mix
2K PRO stone carpet consists of three components: primer, stone and a two-component PU binder. The stone and binder are mixed together on site.

Water-permeable surface: it lets water through, so it does not replace waterproofing. On balconies and on terraces above living space, waterproofing is required underneath.

Priming
Which primer do you need?
The condition of the substrate determines the primer. 2K PRO stone carpet is always applied to a primed substrate.

Applications
Where to use it
A system developed for outdoor surfaces exposed to rain, for both foot and vehicle traffic. For living spaces and walls, we recommend VIRANIX 1K stone carpet.

For outdoor terraces exposed to sun and rain, on a stable substrate laid to a fall.

On a waterproofed substrate: 2K PRO is water-permeable and does not replace waterproofing.

For outdoor surfaces exposed to rain, where water needs to drain away.

On stable, load-bearing steps, at least 8 mm thick, with edge protection profiles.

Open-pored surface: water drains through it instead of standing on top.

Also for vehicle traffic, at least 8 mm thick, after full cure; for outdoor parking spaces and indoor garages.
Application
Application step by step
The result depends on substrate preparation and accurate dosing.

Prepare the substrate
The substrate must be stable, load-bearing, clean, dry and free of dust and grease. Repair any spalling first, then fix the 8 mm edge protection and closing profile along the edges.
Tipp Above approx. 25 m², divide the surface with DILITAPE expansion joints.

Prime
On dry substrates, apply 2K PRO PU Primer with a roller at 150–200 g/m², without puddles. If ground moisture or dampness is suspected, use VAPOGRIP EP 2K instead.
Tipp Apply the stone carpet after 2–3 hours and within 4 hours at the latest, while the primer is still slightly tacky.

Mix batch by batch
Mix components A and B of the binder in a 4 : 3 ratio, then pour onto the dry stone (25 kg stone + 1.5 kg binder) and mix at low speed until every grain is coated.
Figyelem Only prepare as much as you can spread within 45–50 minutes (23 °C).

Spread and compact
Spread and compact with a stainless steel trowel, using even pressure, to a thickness of at least 8 mm.
Tipp Depending on compaction, the actual thickness may be 10–15% greater.

Let it cure
Full cure takes 7 days at 23 °C; until then, protect the surface from dust and rain. Allow vehicle traffic only after full cure.

Important
The stone on its own is not a hazardous mixture. Dust may be generated when pouring and mixing: a dust mask, gloves and safety goggles are recommended. You will find the safety instructions for the binder on the binder page.
2K PRO is a water-permeable surface and does not replace waterproofing.

Does it contain binder?
No. The stone is supplied without binder: order 1.5 kg of VIRANIX 2K PRO PU Binder for every 25 kg pack.
How much do I need?
For an 8 mm layer, one 25 kg pack covers approx. 2.5 m² with 2–4 mm stone and approx. 2 m² with 3–5 mm stone. Allow extra for surfaces with many sections. The 2K PRO calculator works out the complete system.
What is the difference between the two grain types?
The 2–4 mm marble aggregate is angular, gives a uniform surface appearance and comes in six colors. The 3–5 mm KSZ29 and KSZ31 are color blends of rounded, polished marble pebbles.
Is 2K PRO stone carpet waterproof?
No. It is an open-pored, water-permeable surface: it lets water through, so it does not replace waterproofing. On balconies and on terraces above living space, waterproofing is required underneath.
Can cars drive on it?
Yes, at a thickness of at least 8 mm, on a suitable substrate, after full cure (7 days at 23 °C).
Is a topcoat needed?
It is optional. The 2K PRO binder is an aliphatic polyurethane; the surface can be used for foot and vehicle traffic without a topcoat.
Can it be used indoors?
Yes, for indoor garages. For living spaces and walls, we recommend VIRANIX 1K stone carpet; 2K PRO is designed for outdoor surfaces exposed to rain.
Can it be applied over old tiles?
