Two-component aliphatic polyurethane binder for VIRANIX 2K PRO stone carpet. The 1.5 kg pack is enough for one 25 kg bag of stone: mixed on site, it bonds the stone grains into an open-pored, water-permeable surface.

Mixing
One batch, fifty minutes
The binder is mixed batch by batch: 1.5 kg for each 25 kg of stone. Each batch must be spread within 45–50 minutes at 23 °C.

Priming
The binder always goes on a primed substrate
The condition of the substrate determines the primer. 2K PRO stone carpet is always applied to a primed substrate.

Used instead of the PU primer. Apply the stone carpet once VAPOGRIP EP 2K is ready to be overcoated (approx. 24 hours at 20 °C).

Applications
Where to use it
A system developed for outdoor surfaces exposed to rain, for both foot and vehicle traffic. For living spaces and walls, we recommend VIRANIX 1K stone carpet.

For outdoor terraces exposed to sun and rain, on a stable substrate laid to a fall.

Balcony
On a waterproofed substrate: 2K PRO is water-permeable and does not replace waterproofing.

Walkways, garden paths
For outdoor surfaces exposed to rain, where water needs to drain away.

Outdoor stairs
On stable, load-bearing steps, at least 8 mm thick, with edge protection profiles.

Pool surrounds
Open-pored surface: water drains through it instead of standing on top.

Driveway, garage
Also for vehicle traffic, at least 8 mm thick, after full cure; for outdoor parking spaces and indoor garages.
Application
Mixing and application
Accurate dosing and keeping to the pot life are essential for a durable surface.

Prepare and prime the substrate
Apply 2K PRO PU Primer to a stable, clean, dry substrate (VAPOGRIP EP 2K with ground moisture). Fix the 8 mm edge protection profile along the edges.
Tipp Apply the stone carpet to the primer after 2–3 hours and within 4 hours at the latest.

Mix the two components
Mix components A and B in a 4 : 3 ratio at low speed until uniform.
Figyelem Only mix as much as you can spread within 45–50 minutes.

Add the stone
Pour the mixed binder onto the dry stone (25 kg stone + 1.5 kg binder) and mix until every grain is evenly coated.

Spread and compact
With a stainless steel trowel, at least 8 mm thick, using even pressure.
Tipp Depending on compaction, the actual thickness may be 10–15% greater.

Let it cure
Full cure takes 7 days at 23 °C. Protect the surface until then and allow vehicle traffic only afterwards.

How much binder do I need?

What is the mixing ratio?
A : B = 4 : 3. Mix the two components at low speed until uniform, and only then add them to the stone.

When can it be used?

Is a primer needed?

Can it be used with other stone?
The dosage data apply to VIRANIX 2K PRO stone. With other grain sizes, the required quantity may differ; please ask us for advice.
