Priming

Fast priming in one day

Choose the fast-curing PU primer instead of the 2K PRO PU Primer when lead times are short.

150–300 g/m²

material requirement

Depending on the absorbency of the substrate.

1 day

fully dry (20 °C)

Touch-dry after 6–8 hours.

300%

elongation at break

Tensile strength 4 N/mm² (23 °C).

For ground moisture

If rising ground moisture or dampness is suspected, you need VAPOGRIP EP 2K instead of this primer.

Once opened

Moisture makes it cure even in a closed container, and pressure can build up inside: use opened packaging immediately.

Priming

Which primer do you need underneath?

The condition of the substrate determines the primer. The 2K PRO stone carpet is always applied to a primed substrate.

Dry substrate (max. 5% moisture)

VIRANIX 2K PRO Stone Carpet PU Primer (for dry substrates)2K PRO PU Primer 150–200 g/m² · the standard case 11.990 Ft-tól

Apply the stone carpet after 2–3 hours, at the latest within 4 hours, while the primer is still slightly tacky.

When you need to move fast

VIRANIX 2K PRO PU Primer Nedves – fast-curing2K PRO PU Primer Nedves (fast-curing) 150–300 g/m² · dry within 1 day at 20 °C 17.990 Ft-tól

For dry or damp substrates; delaying the next layer causes no problems.

If rising ground moisture or dampness is suspected

VIRANIX VAPOGRIP EP 2K - Vapor-Permeable Epoxy PrimerVAPOGRIP EP 2K approx. 0.15 kg/m² · water-based epoxy 12.000 Ft-tól

Used instead of the PU primer. Apply the stone carpet once VAPOGRIP is ready to be overcoated (approx. 24 hours at 20 °C).

For old tiled or coated surfaces, we recommend the layer build-up based on an individual quote: request a quote.

Applications

What can it be used for?

Areas of application according to the manufacturer's technical data sheet. In the VIRANIX 2K PRO stone carpet system, the condition of the substrate determines which primer is needed.

  • Under 2K PRO stone carpet

When you need to move fast, on dry or damp substrates.

  • Concrete and mineral surfaces

Concrete, mortar and other mineral-based surfaces.

  • Metal, glass, wood

According to the manufacturer's data sheet, it adheres to concrete, steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, glass and wood.

  • Under PU or cementitious systems

As a primer for polyurethane or cement-based systems.

Installation

Step-by-step application

Undiluted, in an even, continuous layer.

  1. Prepare the substrate

Remove oil, grease, fuel and paraffin residues. No formwork release agent, cement residue, sawdust or loose material may remain on the surface.

Figyelem If ground moisture is suspected, use VAPOGRIP EP 2K.

  2. Apply it

Apply evenly with a roller, brush or sprayer for full coverage. Thinning is not recommended.

  3. Continue

Once cured, you can continue with the next layer; delaying the main layer causes no problems.
